The Mullens/Pineville Senior League Softball state championship team was eliminated in the Southeast Regional in Fort Myers, Fla.

Mullens/Pineville lost a pair of low scoring pitcher’s duels and and went 0-3 overall in pool play.

DeFuniak Springs, Fla., defeated the Wyoming County team, 3-0, in the first game of pool play.

The Daniel Boone Little League of Tennesse topped Mullens/Pineville, 4-2, on July 27.

Richmond County Little League of Virginia beat Mullens, 13-4, on July 28.

Other states represented in the tournament were North Carolina and Georgia.

The two Florida teams in the tournament won the semifinal contests.

Fort Myers, the host team, beat DeFuniak Springs, 2-1, on July 30 to capture the Southeast Regional and advance to the World Series in its division.
