WVU announced last week that it will open the 2018 season against Tennessee and play a home-and-home with N.C. State in 2018 and 2019.
The Tennessee game, the first ever meeting between the schools, will be played on Sept. 1, 2018, at Bank America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Tennessee is a member of the SEC, and WVU is a member of the Big 12.
This will be only the second regular season college football game ever played at Bank of America Stadium. The first will be played next year between North Carolina and South Carolina.
The series with N.C. State, an ACC school, will be played in Raleigh on Sept. 15, 2018 and in Morgantown on Sept. 14, 2019.
There have been 10 football meetings between the schools, and the series is even at 5-5.
N.C. State defeated the Mountaineers in the most recent meeting, which took place at the 2010 Champs Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
WVU has announced a number of out of conference games with well known opponents in recent weeks.
The Mountaineers will take on old rival Virginia Tech in 2017 at FedEx Field in Washington. WVU plays Brigham Young in 2016, also at FedEx Field.
