The annual Oceana Heritage 5K Run/Walk will be held this Saturday at 9 a.m.


The run is part of the seventh annual Coal Heritage 5K Race Series..


Entry fees are $12 for pre-registration for adults and $17 on race day.


Student entry fee is $8 for pre-registration or race day.


The top four in men’s and women’s divisions will win cash prizes: $150 for first place, $100 for second place, $75 for third and $50 for fourth place.


Students are not eligible for the cash prizes.


Anyone who sets a course record will receive a $50 bonus.


This is the first of the four-race series this year. The Mullens run has been postponed and a date will be announced soon.


The Pineville run is set for August 23 at 10a.m. The series will wind up with the Twin Falls Lumberjack Jamboree on Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.


Among those expected to run this weekend is Team Zack, which is running to show its support for Zack Mitchell, a Westside freshman who was seriously injured in an ATV accident in May.


“We are running this 5K for him and to support him and his family during this time,” said Nick Lawrence, who will be part of Team Zack.
