Trading places: East No. 2, Westside No. 4 in poll

Wyoming East and Westside have swapped places in AP’s latest boys high school basketball poll.

Last week, WHS was No. 2 and East was No. 4 in Class AA. Now, East (6-0) has moved up to No. 2 and the Renegades are No. 4.

Robert C. Byrd is the new No. 1 and received five first place votes. Wyoming East got three first place votes.

Bluefield dropped to No. 3 after losing to AAA Greenbrier East last week. The Beavers and Westside each had one first place vote.

Poca rounds out the top five.

In the West Virginia Coaches Association girls basketball poll, Westside maintained its hold on the No. 1 spot.
