A New Richmond man has been charged with attempted murder and malicious wounding in connection with an incident at Itmann Hill.

Paul Daniel Vance, 23, of New Richmond was arrested last Saturday, according to Senior Trooper D.G. Pierson of the West Virginia State Police.

Pierson said Trooper Shiflette was dispatched to a fight in progress at approximately 2 p.m.

Shiflette was assisted by Sgt. Will Hall of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.

The police found 19-year-old Christian Lilly lying in a pool of blood. They also discovered Vance.

Lilly had multiple lacerations all over his body and blunt force trauma to the head, Pierson reported.

HealthNet flew Lilly to a Charleston hospital.

Vance is currently in Southern Regional Jail. His bond was set at $100,000.

Shiflett was assisted by members of the West Virginia State Police at Jesse and the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.
