U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.), top Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today announced the award of $185,000 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding for improvements at Kee Field in Pineville.
“Local airports serving general aviation also serve business development and that spells jobs. These airports not only make aviation a viable transportation choice for business, they support the immediate local economy,” said Rahall. “I will continue to press to fully fund Federal transportation programs that benefit our airports and transportation infrastructure here at home.”
The grant provided to Wyoming County was made available through the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program. The monies will be used to fund a design project to rehabilitate approximately 3,700 feet of the runway and install obstruction lighting.
