The West Virginia State Police will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint along West Virginia Route 10 in the Oceana area of Wyoming County. The checkpoing will be in operation from 8 p.m. to Friday, Aug. 1, until 2 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.

The purpose of the sobriety checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the motoring public about the dangers and consquences of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The public is urged to assist law enforcement in the prevention of drunk driving by reporting intoxicated/drug impaired drivers.
