The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources has lifted the boil water advisory on the Bud-Alpoca water system.

The system has been under an advisory since September 2013.

Eastern Wyoming PSD has been treating the water since late 2013.

“Residents in Bud-Alpoca now have the clean water they deserve,” said Sen. Mike Green in a statement issued earlier today.

“In this day and age, all people should have access to clean, drinkable water,” he stated. “I commend the West Virginia Public Service Commission for marshaling the effort it took to work out the details between land owners, public services districits and utilities to bring this crisis to an end.”

Green also thanked General Jim Hoyer and the West Virginia National Guard for their assistance.

The Senator said Bud-Alpoca residents were, due to the scope and duration, affected “as much or more by their situation” as persons affected by the chemical spill in the Elk River.
