Local legislators say there are plenty of positives about the annual Wyoming County Day.
This year’s event is set for Monday.
“I truly think it’s of great benefit down here,” said Del. Linda Phillips last week. “It showcases our county and gives us some good publicity that day.
“It really is neat to have Wyoming County people down here and show off to people what we have in the county. I think (the day) does what it is intended to do.”
“We typically have a very good crowd,” noted Sen. Daniel Hall. “It helps us sell Wyoming County and southern West Virginia to the rest of the state.
“When we have an issue that concerns us, they know Wyoming County cares,’ he continued.
“It’s become a staple at the capital,” he said.
Monday’s schedule includes set up by vendors in the morning, meetings with legislators at noon and a reception at the Governor’s Mansion at 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided by the Wyoming County Council on Aging.
