Zack Mitchell makes most “Survivor” winners look like wimps.
The Brenton teen, whom doctors did not expect to survive after an ATV accident in May, returned home on Friday afternoon, greeted by family, friends, neighbors and a TV crew.
The Westside High School student was in a coma after the four-wheeler he was riding smashed into a tree. He was hospitalized in Charleston for more than six weeks.
“Team Zack” t-shirts, which were sold as a fund raiser to help defray travel and other expenses the family incurred while Mitchell was hospitalized, were much in evidence on Friday.
Mitchell, who suffered severe head injuries, will wear a helmet for the next six months.
Team Zack was also spelled out on a fence and written on the windows of the vehicle which brought him home.
