Pat Armstrong had been thinking about converting the upstairs portion of her building on Main Avenue in Pineville for 20 years.
Now—18 months, three contractors and two electricians later—she has.
The Armstrong, lodging with nine rentable rooms, will hold its grand opening on May 3 at 1 p.m. in the parking lot at First Community Bank.
“I always knew I would do something with the upstairs, I just didn’t know what ” Armstrong said.
She decided there was a need for lodging in the area.
The Armstrong features hardwood floors and, in the bathrooms, granite sink tops and tiled floors. All beds have white linens.
Each room has a decorative theme.
Free wi-fi is available for guests.
No cooking is permitted, but there is a snack area for guests who get hungry or thirsty.
“(First Community Bank) has been very gracious and will allow guests to park in their parking lot,” Armstrong said. “And the town has been wonderful.”
The phone number for The Armstrong will be 304-732-6300.
Investing in the lodging shows her commitment to the area.
“I’m here to stay,” Armstrong commented.
And she may not be done.
“I’m anxious to take on another project,” she said. “I like the smell of fresh paint.”
The grand opening will feature a jazz band and food. The public is invited to attend.
