Skeletal remains found in the Bud Mountain area two weeks ago have been identified.

Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney Micheal Cochrane announced at the courthouse this afternoon that the remains belonged to 39-year-old Theresa Ford of Matoaka.

Ford was last seen alive on May 13, 2013.

Cochrane said Ford’s family had been informed before the announcement was made.

He indicated that more information would be released soon.

A shallow grave was discovered on property belonging to Oscar Ross Combs, Sr., after State Police executed a search warrant on April 10.

Cochrane expressed his thanks to the State Police, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Mullens Police Department and Mullens Fire Department for their “excellent work.”
