Claudia Cook was honored as the Wyoming County Service Personnel of the Year at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.
Cook, who retired recently, was a cook in schools around the county and was also a secretary.
She had been the cafeteria manager at Westside High since 2006.
“She has been missed,” said Superintendent of Schools Frank “Bucky” Blackwell. “She is one of our greatest cooks.”
Wilda Powell, former director of food services, said Cook “was not only a leader in Wyoming County but also a leader in the state. The state asked Claudia to train other cooks.
“She made my job easier,” Powell remarked.
Cook was presented with a check from Professional Business Products and several plaques and gifts.
