Mullens Community Yard Sale was a great success this year.
Sales were on Moran Ave., Church St., Maple Ave., Orchard Street, Ridgeview Drive, South River Drive, and Black Eagle Church of God.
Some sales were fundraisers for non-profits and some were individual sales.
The Starz Cheerleaders raised funds by selling BBQ dinners cooked by Eddie Simmons in the Snack Shop parking lot.
The Methodist Childcare Center held a bake sale and hot dog sale.
The Black Eagle Church of God hosted an indoor sale. Young entrepreneurs have lemonade and sno cone stands.
“My favorite part of the Community Yard Sale is when family and friends are reunited and meet unexpectedly while looking through the many treasures at the sale. I’ve witnessed this over and over again. They will stop shopping and may visit for thirty minutes just catching up because they haven’t seen each other in such a long time. It brings the community and surrounding area residents together for one day.” says organizer Donna Wikel. “This annual sale is held the first weekend every August, and I believe this is the eighth year for the Community Yard Sale, but I haven’t been counting.”
