The annual Patriot Ride rolled through Wyoming County on Saturday afternoon.
There were 107 riders, mostly on motorcycles, who arrived at the courthouse in Pineville. “Taps” was followed by a 21-gun salute on the courthouse lawn, not far from the memorial to those who died in the Vietnam War.
Cameron Davis, a Pineville native and Westside graduate who now attends West Point, took part in the ceremony.
Hot dogs and soft drinks were served to the riders.
The ride went through McDowell, Wyoming and Mingo counties. It ended in the evening with a dinner at Iaeger.
